New! vzaar's designer listing template!

Well things are moving at great pace here at vzaar. To make your listings even smarter our new offering to you is a very swish vzaar listing template. Never has making a listings look so good, been so easy! (and once again - I’ve just done it without a hiccup which just goes to show how easy it really is!)

You can now upload your video, choose to create your listing through vzaar, and opt in to using our template. It’s all pretty self explanatory from there and you can even preview what your listing looks like before it goes up.

Better yet, by using our template, you get an extra image in your listings as we grab one from the video you made. How good is that?! Answers on a post card.... or to email us if you can’t find a stamp.

It’s wonderful to see so many of you using the site. In these beginning weeks it’s good to see everyone embracing videos and trying it out. And your videos are only getting better and better!

One of the greatest challenges in providing a service for eBay users is perhaps that they have widely differing needs. As such, the listing template will be very handy for a lot of people. But what would be of great benefit to myself & I’m sure many others is if the html for my clips could simply be copied from Vzaar & pasted into my listing templates on Turbo Lister, or any other listing tool.

When browsing other peoples’ videos on your site, I notice the html for embedding them is given just under each clip. But this is not provided when I look at my own clips in ‘my vzaar’, yet the flexibility that having this simple bit of html would give me would be invaluable.

I have tried to circumvent this by going to ‘videos’ & searching for my own clips there (rather than in ‘my vzaar’ where the embed html is not provided) but for some reason, they do not show up.

Hi Sam,

Boy don’t we know it. eBay users have such wide and varied needs we can’t meet them all initially. We are working on starting with functionality that we think meets the needs of as many people who might want to use video as possible and extending this out to meet more and more needs as we can.

We think the listing template will be of great use to many of the sellers who don’t have the HTML skills to develop more enhanced layouts.

We’re working of functionality for turbo lister (and other listing tools). This requires a bit more techno-magic as we still need to link the videos to the listings, and when you paste the code into TL it’s not live yet. This is on our roadmap.

The HTML under the videos is given so that the videos can be pasted on other sites (not eBay) like blogs and myspace and sellers own sites. This allows sellers to get the video ‘out there’ so to speak and to drive more people to their listings from off eBay.

You can grab the embed code if you go to “my vzaar” and then “my ebay listings” and clicking on more details next to a video. (I know this isn’t the most intuitive and we’re looking to improve this in later builds). However if you embed this in a different listing to the one it’s linked to, it will come accross with the wrong auction details and take you to the original listing when you click on the “bid now buttons”.

We totally understand the TurboLister needs. And we’re working on it. But we needed to start from somewhere so we wanted to make sure any eBayer could put video into a live listing.
