Every now and then we like to showcase a customer and share with you their methods for success. This month we are casting our spotlight on Jonathon Paxton’s business; [Equp2clean](http://www.equip2clean.co.uk/), a UK based company offering high quality tools and equipment online. They specialise in indoor and outdoor cleaning equipment. Jonathan started using product video’s on their website and eBay listings in August 2008 and since then have noticed and marked improvement in sales and customer service. Paxton the owner of the business states “*Video has had a massive impact on my sales, in the past we used to rely on static photos now we include video on all our product listings because it gives the buyer more information*.” He adds “*they can hear the item and see it working, we also get fewer questions about our products from callers*” Jonathan goes on to say they when they purchase new equipment one of the prerequisites is for the product to video well. “*We want products we can show off with video so they have to be photogenic*”
Here are a selection of product videos from Equip2clean

In a couple of weeks you will soon be able to select what size video player you want. This selection will be made on the upload page, and you will be able to select from 3 sizes: small, medium, and large. This is an example of what the widescreen large video player will look like.

The eBay community have always been a very giving set of people. During my time at the company I was constantly impressed at the lengths strangers would go to help one another with advice, pointers or just encouragement. Sadly ever since eBay UK put a halt to the eBay University programme there has been a pronounced gap in the social calendar for eBay sellers to actually meet face to face. Whilst events like ChannelAdvisor’s Catalyst offer certain sellers the chance to meet, socialise and share in experiences, the ball now appears to be firmly in the court of sellers themselves.
Thankfully various social networking tools now make the idea of organising and rounding up a few sellers a little less onerous that it used to be. There are Facebook Groups, Twitter Feeds and various online forums around which people can meet on and offline. Adding to that list is the new London eBay Seller Meetup. Loosely based around a monthly gathering, the [MeetUp](http://www.meetup.com) website allows any person to set up there own social event.
Last month vzaar was invited to come along and meet some of the eBay sellers in attendance at one of the newly set up eBay meets in London. Never one to turn down a beer, I met with ex eBay staffer and MeetUp organiser, Nathan O’Hanlon, who has done his best to create an evening that is both relaxed and welcoming.
Held on the third Thursday of every month the eBay London Meet Up gather upstairs at the Walkabout pub in Putney and its well worth dropping in if you fancy networking with fellow users of the auction platform. Here’s Nathan with a personal invite!

Although its in its early days Nathan has some lofty aims and I can see how quickly such an event could quite easily grow into a more powerful and educational voice. As with any of these meets you tend to get back what you put in so why not pop along? The next meeting for the London group is on Thursday 19th February and to sign up you can click [here](http://www.meetup.com/ebayuk/)

Not since Barack Obama faced off against John McCain late last year has a debate been so intense. Well in the vzaar offices that is.
We’ve been debating (heavily) a change to the default player to offer one that is borderless (or what is sometimes known as chromeless)
Currently we have what I think is a really nice clean player with a border that helps it stand out. Our video guy (Ian) thinks the border-less player is a better option as it allows customers to blend it into their own look more easily.
We thought it was best to see what you, are users thought. Take a look at two players below the poll and vote. Feel free to drop us a line or leave some comments if you have any thoughts you would like to share.
We’re just thinking about changing the default player, the one you get automatically. You’ll of course be able to change this either way if you choose to. When we know what you, our users choice is well set this all up correctly.
Of course the free player either way will still have branding on it, and if everyone wants the borderless one we’ll need to figure out how we’ll do the free player branding. But mot importantly, we just want your thoughts on which player type you would prefer.
So have a look below, and give us your vote!

Player 1: Bordered Player (current player)

Player 2: Borderless Player (proposed player)
