We have chosen the primary colours as well as the most popular ones so you are sure to find one that suits your brand. We love them all. No colour is better than another, it is all about choice and the context it is used. Together with no vzaar branding on the player we now offer unparalleled visual integration with your site, furthering our commitment to providing the best player for the business community: an easy to use, clean and professional looking video player

Preview your player with new colours in real time so you can decide which one works best for you before going live with it. Experiment with border off (no player border) so that your chosen colour scheme is applied to the player controls only. It adds a new dimension to the player. You may find that a color scheme you haven’t considered looks great with no border on the player.

I remember testing this functionality and couldn’t stop changing the colours to see the results. It was so much fun and inspiring.

Go create!

NOTE: if you change your player colour (my vzaar > settings page) to blue for example, all the videos you upload from then on will have a blue player. The same applies to the border on/off. Changing to a new colour will again apply to videos uploaded from then on. Existing videos will retain the settings you had at the time of uploading your videos.

article by:

vzaar_glossary

Technically speaking online video can sometimes be a little confusing with so many terms and names flying about. So, with huge thanks to the wonderful team at ReelSEO, we can now share with you a definitive A-Z glossary of online video terminology.
Keen to understand what encoding means, not sure what the difference between an FLV and a MOV is? If so, then this alphabetical list should prove a useful reference point. You can find it on any of our help pages. That said, if it still fails to answer your burning question then do get in touch with us via the contact page.

Among all the new features we’ve released we’re confident one of the most commonly used will be the new borderless player feature. Earlier this year we had a hunch in the office that many of our users would be soon asking for a player that had no border so we put it to you guys to let us know just what you wanted. [The feedback was pretty overwhelming](http://vzaar.com/blog/2009/02/the-great-vzaar-video-player-border-debate) and so the next dilemma then became, do we make borderless the default option or not.
In the end, we decided to still give Bronze and above users the choice, but we felt that defaulting to the traditional grey vzaar player remained the strongest option. The grey and black colours blend well on nearly all sites that we have seen to date.
But rightly you businesses want more control, more say, more design options, particularly given the care, attention and resource that you put into your own websites. So that’s why if you need a player that looks slightly slimmer and you think your appearance will benefit from the clean, crisp, simple right angles of a player without borders then now you can have just that!

To generate a player without borders you simply need to [upgrade](http://vzaar.com/pricing) to a Bronze user or above. You can log in and [set your Advanced Player Settings](http://vzaar.com/settings) to “Border Off” at any time and all future videos uploaded will be served without the 14 pixel wide border.

This is one of my favourite features in our new release as it gives total control to the user over the quality of video and it speeds up the uploading process. Let me explain. If you would rather prepare videos locally on your own PC and encode them to your parameters then this feature is ideal for you. By encoding the video yourself you can adjust the bitrate and frame rate to your liking. If you want to know the optimal bit rate for your video here is a [useful calculator](http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flash/apps/flv_bitrate_calculator/index.html) on Adobe’s site written by Robert Reinhardt.
dne2
To activate this DNE setting turn video encoding OFF in the [MY VZAAR](https://vzaar.com/settings) settings page. This means we won’t encode your videos and once uploaded they will be ready to use, preserving your video and the parameters you have set. You must encode your videos to flash using one of the following codecs: h.263, h.264, VP6 or VP7 for this to work.
Because we are by passing the encioding process your videos will upload much faster. Please note that this is a default setting so be sure to change it back if you have videos you want vzaar to encode.
If you want vzaar to encode your videos turn this button ON. We will then encode your videos with these default parameters below:
Frame Rate: This is set to 25fps on all video unless you select HD in which case its 30fps.
Bit Rate: This depends on the Player size you select see chart below:
vzaar video encoding bitrate chart
Video Codec: We use H.264 but we offer the option in the settings page for you to use H.263
Audio Codec: We use MP3 for our H.263 and AAC for our H.264 encoding.
dne gives you speed and control. If you have used this feature we would love to hear your[ feedback](http://vzaar.com/contact).
