vzaar were the proud sponsors of dConstruct 2011. The team also attended the conference in order get some inspirational juice from excellent line up.

From Don Norman’s inspirational speech on exciting times in technology and changes sweeping the industry, to Kelly Goto’s take on the complexity of our relationships between connected experiences, devices and people. dConstruct 2011 brings together leading thinkers from the fields of interaction design, mobile design and ubiquitous computing to explore how we can bridge the gap between physical and digital product design.

It was great to see some friends of vzaar as well as spread the word on how vzaar can help businesses with their video hosting requirements. We are also going to be publishing videos from the conference in the coming weeks. We will let you know via our twitter feed when this is live.

I had the pleasure to work on [vzaar's](http://vzaar.com) interface design for eBay’s echo project, which saw third party services integration to their platform. [vzaar](http://vzaar.com) have been chosen to be the only partner allowing eBay customers to add video to their eBay listings. It is great to see our efforts recognised by such a household name in the online space.

where we were

vzaar's main site redesign was already scheduled and overdue. We had been creating new exciting features but our website just did not make justice to them anymore. Our pace of growth was such that we needed an interface to make our new features easier to find and use, making powerful functionality simple and accessible. Add the eBay project to the mix and things began to be very interesting….. challenge is always welcome.

The beginning

Wouldn’t it be great if the user had a bird eye’s view of all his stuff on vzaar? Enter the dashboard page. The idea was around the office for a while… the eBay project presented an ideal opportunity to try it. I took the plunge and pushed this further, creating the new design and box framework out of it too.
