To quote Adobe, "Adobe Flash Player is the standard for delivering high-impact, rich Web content.". It is the software necessary for video to be properly deployed and displayed across the Internet.
We currently use Flash Player version 9. You can download that for free here. You can also see what version your computer has presently installed here.
Version 9 is currently prevalent across 98.9% of Internet users so we are confident that the vast, vast majority of Internet users will be able to view your video. If you are having problems viewing your video please contact us↵
The vzaar video player can be placed on any website that accepts HTML. If you want to use the video on your own website then simply paste the code into the necessary field or page. If you have any more questions regarding this then please contact us.↵
You can upload videos from digital still cameras, mobile phones and camcorders to vzaar. You don't need a top-of-the-range digital video camera to make a good video. Any device that records video will do. Digital cameras usually have a video recording feature on them. The common icon for this feature is a movie camera or a film strip. Your cell phone may also have a built in camera that can capture video too.↵
You can transfer your videos from your digital camera in the same way as you extract your photographs. Videos are stored as digital files just like photographs and you can transfer them in the same way: using a lead between camera and computer or by inserting your camera memory card in to your computer. Just save your video files to your computer’s hard drive and you’re ready to upload them to vzaar. ↵
There are a number of free services out there that will do this for you. We’d certainly recommend you try any of the following: Handbrake, Zamzar and Media-Convert
Be sure to select an output format that we currently accept (links to format question}.↵
The current limit is 1.2GB (per individual file). Most files average around 15-20MB in size. ↵
The easiest way is to shoot a shorter video. You can also shoot the initial video in a lower resolution setting. 320x240 is ideal for these videos. And if you set the sound to mono this will help keep the file size small too. ↵
If your files are taking a long time to upload and you'd like to speed this up, there are a few ways to compress your video before you upload to vzaar. We've suggested some free software to do the job and made you a "How to" video to show you how to use it too. Watch it here.↵
There is no limit to how long a video can be but we have found that on average businesses trying to advertise a particular item will aim for something between 30 and 60 seconds. Much like they would on television.↵
This may be one of many things. Firstly it may be a problem from our end because our system is very busy with lots of people trying to upload videos at the same time. In this case just please be patient.
Secondly this may be a problem at your end because perhaps your internet connection may be running slow or the file you are trying to upload may be too big. If your internet connection is only so wide, it takes a longer time to fit a file through it, like it would getting a lot of traffic down a small lane. If your internet connect is wider, like broadband is you can get the file down it quicker - like traffic down a highway.
If your file size is also quite big this will take longer to upload. On average the file sizes we see being uploaded to vzaar are around 20MB.↵
We have a privacy feature available on all paid packages. It means that when you upload a video to vzaar you can choose to make it private or public. By making it private, only you will be able to see the video on vzaar. By making it public means that the video will be made public on vzaar for everyone to see.↵
If you are a paying user, please contact us and we'll enable this for you. You'll need to make sure you have an appropriate account that can handle the increase in video plays. We have found though that viewers prefer to play a video through choice.↵
This is possible by manually changing the width and height dimensions of the embed video code. This will change the size of the player and effectively squeeze the same video source into it which means you may lose some quality in playback.↵
Yes it is possible to only upload audio (like an mp3 file) however you’ll have the player frame that will show a black screen while the sound plays. ↵
This is a term we use to refer to the total monthly amount of data transmitted each time your video is played. The units we use are GB. The Video bandwidth is calculated by multiplying the amount of plays by the size of the videos. Please note this is not the original size of the video you upload but the size of the video after we encode it, which is always smaller. So if you upload a 10MB file, and when we encode it lets say its 5MB, then this is the file size that is transmitted each time that video is played. If you only had this video uploaded then a Bronze user with 5GB of video bandwidth could expect to have 1,000 video plays before they uses all of the video bandwidth for that month. (5MB video file divided by 5GB total monthly video bandwidth = 1000 plays). ↵
