Gareth Cadwallader has worked in the IT and media sectors for 30 years, for companies such as Hewlett Packard, Compaq and Computacenter. Gareth co-founded Sophrosyne Ventures LLP, a small-cap Investment Fund Manager. As well as vzaar, Sophrosyne is invested in Precision Point, a business analytics software company, RMP Enterprise, an on-line and on-campus service for undergraduate placements, Concert One, the owner of entertainment rights for one-off rock events, Go Lower, a provider of real-food, low-carb diet programmes, and Derby Street Films, a firm that develops screenplays.
Over the past ten years Gareth has served as a Director of Dedipower, a Managed Hosting company, Airas Intersoft, a developer of administration software for Life Assurance and Pensions companies, DOX Productions, a film maker, and AppSense Limited, a developer of user virtualisation software.
After graduating from Brasenose College, Oxford and The Graduate School of Government at Harvard, Gareth held positions in sales, marketing and services at HP, Computacenter and Cable & Wireless. He was Vice President for Services at Digital in the UK and Ireland and Director of Enterprise Business at Compaq Computer Limited.
Gareth is a Governor of the University of West London and sits on the UK's Advisory Council of Investors in People. He chairs the Steering Group of the ITMB honours degree, offered at a dozen Universities.
