Ian Snead

VP, Sales & Marketing

Ian leads vzaar’s commercial and marketing activities. He builds our strategic partnerships, manages key customer accounts, and delivers sales. Prior to joining vzaar, Ian was responsible for business development at Open Source start up Editopia, who successfully pitched and raised financing from Benchmark & 3i.

Prior to Editopia, Ian served as Business Development Director for WPP Tyrell in London where over the course of five years developed the Animation and Effects business by expanding product lines, negotiating exclusive supplier agreements and increasing turnover with new accounts. From 1996 to 2000 Ian helped start up Visual Media FX in Miami Florida, an Autodesk reseller for digital content creation tools, serving the Film and Television industry.

Ian has a proven record in delivering commercial goals in the digital media and web platform space. Jamaican-born Ian was educated in the UK and in America where he holds a Business Degree from Florida Atlantic University. When not working, Ian fulfils his time playing his favorite sports: tennis and rugby.

1. Why vzaar?

When it comes to internet apps I like an interface that’s intuitive and easy to use.

2. It’s sports day at school, what event have you been entered for?

Egg and teaspoon race. For some reason this was the only event I was in any danger of winning.

3. What's your favourite cheese?

Stinking Bishop... not really my favourite but it’s fun to say. I enjoy a nice cheddar to be frank.

4. Where do you see the Internet in 5 years?

From a distance while I enjoy the sounds of the Caribbean sea from my beach house.

5. Which piece of software have you found most useful?

My tv remote control. Even if I don’t need it I can’t relax and enjoy TV unless I have it in my hand. (I am sure there is some software in it)
