We offer data processing addendums (DPAs) for our customers that operate in the EU or wish to be compliant such that they can serve customer in the EU. Our DPA offers contractual terms that meet GDPR requirements and that reflect our data privacy and security commitments to our clients.
Different platforms are taking different approaches to the question of meeting GDPR’s requirements for data processor contracts. In some cases, the opportunity is taken to rebalance the risk profile in the provider’s favour. We’ve also seen customer documents that take the same line in favour of the customer. Our view of the task is a simple, neutral one – we want to help you fulfil the requirement to have a compliant data processor contract, but without tinkering with the remainder of our agreement with you.
It is also worth noting that our services are powered by a single Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform across our entire user base – you may have noticed the efficiencies of a common platform are reflected in our pricing and the way our services can be used. As a result though, it means that we are very limited operationally in the degree of customisation we can entertain for a specific user. Agreeing different data processing terms with different customers challenges our ability to deliver a cohesive efficient service to our users.
In that context, I hope you can understand we are not able to engage with a customer’s own data processing terms. However, we are of course willing to review any aspect of our terms with you if you think they’re unclear, or don’t meet your legal team’s view of what is required under GDPR.”
We make it easy for our customers to formalize and share with their stakeholders, including employees, customers and potential auditors, that they use vzaar in a way that meets GDPR data processing obligations. The Data Processing Addendum (DPA), pre-signed by vzaar, is a self-serve and easy-to-execute document that only requires an electronic signature from the customer. (You may print, sign and upload / fax it if you prefer)
Once you complete signing the addendum it becomes legally binding. A copy of the signed addendum will be emailed to you.
